MAKING HISTORY
MATT SMYTH AND JAMES JUKES BEGAN DEVELOPING THE CONCEPT OF LOVEDOUGH IN OCTOBER 2000. THE IDEA BEHIND IT WAS TO BREAK THE MOULD OF THE STANDARD CLUBNIGHT, OFFERING AN EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD BE AN ALL-ROUND SHOW AS OPPOSED TO A PURELY DJ-LED EVENT.
Drawing from every aspect of early Hip Hop culture, each LoveDough show incorporates the music, dance, art and fashion that have come to define the genre.

LoveDough began in a modest 400 capacity venue in Leeds in 2001 and since then has generated well in excess of over a million admissions, hosting sold out shows in 35 venues across 25 different cities worldwide. These include the likes of London, Brighton, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Cork, Ibiza, Mallorca, Abu Dhabi, Damascus, Beirut, Las Vegas and Hollywood to name a few.
We have worked closely with the BBC and have broadcasted LoveDough Live on both Radio 1 and 1Xtra on numerous occasions with shows featuring the very best in the UK’s urban music scene. First of all LoveDough hosted 1Xtra’s first birthday to a 3,000 strong crowd at Newcastle’s Ikon venue in August of 2003 and then most recently in Newcastle as part of their InNewMusicWeTrust Tour of 2010, showcasing the vocal talents of Skepta, Ms Dynamite, Donaeo, Sway and DJ’s Tim Westwood and Mista Jam.

Alongside the club nights LoveDough have also had two national releases with UK stars Sway and L.Man under their own record label LoveDough Recordings in 2006 (Sway ‘This Is My Rave’) and again in 2007 (L.Man ‘New Age Army’).
Nine years on and stronger than ever, LoveDough is increasing its international residencies by the month with Dubai, Egypt, Jordan and Miami penned as the next spots as well as a clothing line due for launch by year end. As the brand approaches it’s tenth birthday the future appears more exciting then ever and as such, we suggest you stay very much tuned in as to what is coming next in the LoveDough saga.
